[Excerpt ] “Taiwei” was first seen in “Zhuangzi”, which is a reversal and supplement of Lao Tzu’s time dimension and its reverse traceability thinking, and thus forms the Taoist cosmic theory form of unity in time and space. At the same time, Confucianism uses the method of “it is easy to have a strong and is the birth of two corpses” to form a creative cosmic view, and explains the generation of all things. When it comes to “Doctor of the Mean”, it forms a cosmic view of the subjective reality through “seriousness” and “as true”. Due to the trend of the integration of Confucianism and Taoism at that time, it has been formed from Xunzi to visualize the universe with the direction of biochemical development. When it comes to “Seven Episodes”, this biochemical universe is planned to be divided into “Four Episodes” or “Five Episodes”, which has become the mainstream of China’s traditional universe.
After the teachings were introduced, Seng Zhao first used his “increasing emptiness” to resolve the “unknown” thinking of dimension, and then made a relatively accurate determination of the biochemical world with his unresolved middle way. After that, through Fan Zhi’s “distinguishing form and spirit”, Confucianism used the method of “shen” to oppose Buddha and made a determination on the teachings of sages from the perspective of actual existence, but was also opposed by Zongmi’s “all things and people are the foundation of the atmosphere.”
After the emergence of the Five Sons of the Northern Song Dynasty, Shao Yong and Zhou Dunxuan took the lead in using Taoist thoughts to concentrate on the development of Confucianism’s “Taifeng”, thus constituting or regaining the view of the universe of heavenly ways characterized by biochemical transformation; by Zhang Shu, due to the confrontation between Confucianism and Buddhist and Laozi, he was no longer as “Taifeng”. This original biochemical change must be developed to the level of the body of the “highest static and insensitive”, which reflects the modification of “taixian”, which not only responds to the guidance of the two schools of Buddhism and Taoism with “invisible and invisible” and at the same time, it also rebels against the Buddha and Laozi with the “unrelenting and invisible”.
In this process, the “super reality” and “super one” regulations of “Taixian” and its “super static” characteristics include its characteristics of containing all things and being virtual and kind, which just becomes the realization of heavenly virtue and its “deification””. As the mainstream and source of the Song and Ming dynasties, Zhang Xiu (1020-1077)’s book “Zheng Meng” occupies a major position in the dynasty. Because it is not only a product of Zhang Xiu’s integration of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, but also a work of “making Tao” that he has explored throughout his life.
Regarding “Zheng Meng”, Zhang Xiu once praised himself: “My works are books, like a dead plant, the most basic branches and leaves are all prepared, and those who give it are artificially burned. It is also like the Zetian shows that everything is here, and what is the one who takes it? ”[i] Zhang Xuan’s necessary positioning of “Zhengmeng” is sufficient to realize his “creating Tao” to “realize the sages and inherit peace for the world”[ii]. But for understanding the theoretical scale of the book “Zhengmeng”, its most important difficulty is concentrated on the words “Taishi”.

This article does not preset the division between the theory of the way of heaven and life. It only starts from how “Taishuang” was born in the pre-Qin Scriptures to the evolution of Han Dynasty scriptures to the basic stereotype of the Song Dynasty, and discusses how “Taishuang” became the metaphysical body of the natural way of heaven in Zhang Xiu’s philosophy.
1. Original point of space: The original meaning of “Taixian” in Zhuangzi
The word “Taixian” was first seen in “Zangzi·Zhibeiyou”, and also represents the final proposal of its philosophical concept. However, to be clear about the basic meaning of this concept, we must first understand the conceptual civilization landscape it forms, that is, from which angle was it proposed?
From this perspective, Lao Tzu’s (approximately 571 BC-471 BC)’s reverse traceability “no” can be said to be the theoretical outlook for the concept of “Taiwei”. For example, Lao Tzu once expressed his preservation of the world in the following language:
Everything in the country was born from existence, and existence was born from nothing. (Chapter 40 of “Quality”)
The whole country has its beginnings, thinking that it is the mother of the nation. Once you get your mother, you will know your son; once you know your son, you will keep your mother again, and you will be in danger. (Chapter 52 of “Quality”)
Lao Tzu’s observation and thinking on “all things in the country are born from existence, and all things are born from nothing” has made it a kind of “nothing” cleverness, and its specific expression is “become the mother to know the son; once you know the son, you keep the mother”, so his important spirit is focused on “nothing” as the mother of all things in the country, and explain the world of “nothing” with “nothing”.
However, the idea of ”existence” to “no” in my includes the idea of ”existence” to “no” is completely developed by the method of imitation and description and along the dimensions of time. The reason why this is a kind of reverse traceability wisdom is that its thinking from “existence” to “no” is complete along the dimension of time and is also realized through reverse traceability.
When I arrived at Zhuangzi (about 369 BC-286 BC), I soon discovered the problem of Lao Tzu’s “keeping his mother to keep his son” in his wisdom. Specifically, this reverse traceability from “existence” to “nothing” is actually complete through the dimension of time, that is, it must be traced from the actual existence (“existence”) of all things to the state that has not yet existed (so-called “nothing”). Although this kind of reverse traceability can be realized in contemplation and consciousness, it is completely impossible in real life.
